Fun in the Snow - January 2011

My husband and I took the kids up north for the weekend to visit family, and we all went tubing. The weather was just perfect for the day and the kids had a blast! Just before we packed up to leave, Sam and the kids started playing on a little hill. It gave me a good chance to work in my new canon 60D, which produced such fantastic photos!
All the boys had a great time playing in front of my camera, and I had just as much fun capturing it!

2007 - Wedding in Sundridge, ON

In July 2007 (the first wedding for me in a few years) my husband and I went to the wedding of one of his co-workers, so they asked me to shoot for them.

I used my old canon Rebel, a 6.3 megapixel camera, with a standard kit lens. The camera wasn't the best quality (as you can see in the photos below) but it did what it was supposed to do. Printed at a decent size, the photos presented well.

Welcome!

I am an aspiring professional photographer, and will be updating this blog frequently to showcase my photographs. Please feel free to view and comment on any of the photos, as I really enjoy the feedback. If you are interested in my work and would like to book a session, please contact me and we can discuss the details of the shoot. I will be posting a 2011 Rate Card soon.

A bit about my photographic background.
I began taking pictures in highschool, shooting, processing and developing my own film and prints. The camera of choice was a 35mm Pentax. Black and whites were my specialty. My highschool teacher Mr. John Shoveller was my mentor. He encouraged me to apply at Sheridan College to the Applied Photography program. I was accepted and attended a year and a half - but due to financial restrictions, was unable to complete my second year. I love photography. It is my passion and I am so thankful to be getting back into it.

I always enjoyed shooting with film, as I liked the process of developing my own film, and prints. To be honest, I was intimidated by digital, as I wasn't too into the computer, and using programs such as Adobe Photoshop. That has obviously changed, and I am eager to learn as much as I can and evolve with the digital world around me.

That being said, ALEAH NICOLE PHOTOGRAPHY was born.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and I hope that it interests you enough to come back frequently.

Cheers,

~aleah
